Law & compliance
Careful information — not legal advice.
Belgium
A draft bill aims at mandatory working-time recording. The text is not yet adopted. Horodata prepares for this evolution without promising an effective date.
Meanwhile many SMEs already strengthen their daily register: reliable timestamps, traced corrections, fast export if inspectors visit.
Europe
The CJEU CCOO judgment (C-55/18, 2019) confirms the duty to use an objective time-recording system. Spain already has obligations; Germany has BAG case law; Greece is rolling out a digital work card.
“Objective” is more than an editable spreadsheet: time, author and corrections must remain verifiable.
Good practices
Server timestamps, append-only journal, reason on every correction, PDF/CSV export, EU hosting and long retention (target 5 years).
Record retention: 5 years (draft / good practice).
Hosting and processing in the EU.
