Reading for a Belgian SME: keep the time register, hand hours to the social secretariat, and hold a file if inspectors call. This is not legal advice.

- Employee time tracking in BelgiumTime tracking shows who worked, and when. Those hours go to the social secretariat for payroll. The same register is what you can show if inspectors ask how working time was kept.
- Working-time register in BelgiumThe register answers a plain question: which hours were worked. It does not replace the contract, the posted rota, or the payroll calculation done by the social secretariat.
- Handing hours to the social secretariatThe social secretariat calculates and pays. The employer supplies the hours worked. Horodata produces that file. It does not run payroll.
- Inspection and the time fileA control asks for coherent hours: who worked, from when until when, and how a correction was made. Horodata prepares that file. It does not guarantee the outcome of an inspection.
- Clock-in geolocation and GDPRHorodata can store a location at clock-in or clock-out. It does not follow an employee through the day. Nothing is stored without consent in the app.
- The CCOO judgment: an objective system of measurementOn 14 May 2019 the Court of Justice (case C-55/18) held that Member States must require an objective, reliable and accessible system to measure daily working time. That does not, by itself, set the Belgian timetable.
- Time tracking for an SME: the register, not the HR suiteMany SMEs do not need a second product for leave, hiring and rotas. They need the hours worked, in a file a social secretariat can read, and in a record they can show.
- Time tracking in hospitalityOn the floor and in the kitchen, hours move with the service. The register notes what was worked, then goes to the social secretariat. It does not build the weekly rota.
- Time tracking on a construction siteOn site, the day starts far from the office. The register notes the hours actually worked and passes them on for payroll. A location at clock-in is not access control for the site.
- Time tracking in retailIn a shop, many contracts are part-time and the days follow opening hours. The register notes the hours clocked. The social secretariat turns them into pay. Horodata does not plan the shop floor.
